Lourdes College of Nursing (Sidhi Sadan) is located in Chemmbumukku, along Kakkanad Route.The educational programmes of the college include:
- Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (started in 1969)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (started in 2002)
- Post Basic B.Sc Nursing programme (Started in 2005)
- Post Basic Diploma in Critical Care Nursing (2010).

The College is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council and is affiliated to Kerala University for Heath Sciences.
Courses
1. BSc Nursing
Eligibility For Admission
- Admission criteria is as specified in the prospectus of the Association of the Managements of Self Financing Nursing Colleges of Kerala (AMSFNCK) 2011 - 12.
- The application forms and prospectus can be obtained from Lourdes College of Nursing or any member college of the AMSFNCK.
- Applicants belonging to the Catholic Community are required to enclose Conduct Certificate, Baptism Certificate and Catechism Certificate from their Parish Priest.
2. Post Basic BSc Nursing
Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Degree Course is a professional programme of two years duration with University Examination at the end of the year. On successful completion of the course the graduates are eligible to pursue Master's Degree Programme and for the posts of Nursing Tutor, Asst. Lecturer, Ward In-Charge etc.
Eligibility For Admission
- A pass in Pre-Degree examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam or its equivalent as recognized by the University.
- A Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery Course (3years / 31/2 years duration) approved by the Indian Nursing Council.
- Registration in Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council (RNRM) or its equivalent as recognized by the Kerala Nursing Council.
- A minimum of one year professional Nursing experience in a hospital or community setting after GNM with Kerala Nursing Council registration.
Selection Procedures
- Selection of the candidate for admission to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing will be made on the basis of Interview as well as marks of GNM course + Plus Two.
- At the time of Interview the candidates shall produce the following documents.
- Originals of GNM Certificate, Mark List and Kerala Nursing Council Registration Certificate.
- Original of SSLC book / Certificate, Plus Two Certificate / Mark sheet.
- Migration Certificate from the University/Board (except M.G University / Govt. of Kerala) Pre. Degree/ Plus Two.
- Experience Certificate
- Conduct certificate
- Certificate to prove excellence in extracurricular activity, if any.
- Community certificate from the Parish Priest (for those seeking admission under community Quota)
- The final merit list of selected candidates will be published on the next day and intimated through post to join the course. At the time of joining the candidates will have to pay the prescribed fees.
3. MSc Nursing
The KNC had conducted an inspection on 16.11.2011 for starting M.Sc Nursing Programme and sanctioned 3 specialties - Medical Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynecology, & Pediatric Nursing 3 seats each.
Applications were received through the Self Financing Associations which had carried out the allotment. The first batch of M.Sc Nursing students joined the institution on 25.11.2011. The students were offered Medical Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing, Child Health Nursing with 3 seats each.
Eligibility For Admission
- Candidates must be Citizen of India/Children or dependents of Non-Resident Indians.
- Candidates should have passed B.Sc. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from any of the Universities in Kerala or from any Universities outside Kerala which is recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala and should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for the qualifying examination.
- Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from authorities other than the state of Kerala shall produce the certificate of eligibility and equivalence of the qualifying examination from any University in Kerala.
- The norms of eligibility prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council/Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council/Affiliating Universities shall also apply
- Candidates should also have one year's post registration work experience (including internship, if any) in any hospital having a minimum bed strength of 100, or in a School/ College of Nursing with Community Health Program.
- Applicants should not have completed 45 years of age. No relaxation of age will be allowed.
4. GNM
The Diploma course in General Nursing and Midwifery, a 31/2 year programme is approved by INC and KNC. On successful completion of the 31/2 year course the students shall be awarded with Diploma in GNM and Registration certificate separately, which entitles them to function as Registered Nurses and Midwives.
- The selection procedure for admission of the candidates to GNM course will be made on the selection criteria prescribed by the Kerala Nursing council.
- The prospects in subject to modification / addition / deletion as may be deemed necessary by the Kerala Nursing Council and the School Management.
Eligibility For Admission
- Education :- A pass in the plus two examination or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects with an aggregate of 40% marks for Physics Chemistry and Biology.
- In the absence of candidates with above qualification, a pass in plus two examination or it's equivalent with any other groups as optional subject with an aggregate mark of 40% can be considered.
- Age:- Not less than 17 years and not more than 27 years as on the 1st day of October 2001 with relaxation of upper age limit up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Cast / Scheduled Tribe and up to 3 years in the case of candidates belong to the backward community. In case of candidates belonging to religious orders of the minority community the maximum are limit shall be 30 years.
- Residential:-Candidate can be a resident of any state in India.
